About Recreational Coffee
Recreational Coffee is Long Beach's premier coffee roastery and café, serving specialty drinks and fresh-roasted beans since 2015. Located in downtown Long Beach at 237 Long Beach Blvd, we're both a welcoming neighborhood coffee shop and a dedicated small-batch coffee roaster.
We roast all our coffee beans in-house using sustainably sourced, specialty-grade beans. Every espresso, latte, and pour-over you enjoy in our café is made with beans we roast ourselves, ensuring maximum freshness and quality. Our Therapy Blend house espresso and rotating single-origin offerings showcase our commitment to craft roasting.
Whether you're stopping by for a quick cortado, working remotely with a slow pour over, ordering beans online, or filling up a 64-oz iced coffee growler for the week, you'll experience coffee roasted with care in Long Beach. Stopped in as part of my 2026 January Coffee Tasting month and grabbed a cup of the day’s drip—so glad I did. The barista set the tone right away with a warm, genuinely welcoming vibe. Drip: Mexico 🇲🇽 from Finca Las Chicharras — Bourbon & Caturra beans. Bright citrus notes up front, a soft hint of black tea, and a cozy honey finish. I added a splash of vanilla honey milk and it tied everything together beautifully Simple, comforting, and thoughtfully crafted. This cup absolutely delivered 💯

My wife and I visited while on vacation from Massachusetts, where we own a groovy coffee shop of our own. We know great espresso, great food, and great service—and this place truly has all three. On top of that, it has a relaxed, chill vibe with plenty of seating. Easily a five-star experience.
